Waiting For An iPhone

Sometimes I get way too obsessive about things. Right now I am in the middle of iphonamania. Let me back up a bit. We have very little cell phone coverage on the farm and so that has given me very little reason to invest in a smartphone of any kind. I figured why waste more money when I already drop too many calls.

Then this happened:

Yup, a cell phone tower was erected close enough to the farm that I can see the light blinking in the clouds every morning when I run the cows in. This got me pretty excited if only for having better coverage and not having dad lament the days of how good his bag phone was--yes, he still brings it up.

US Cellular Finally Says "Yes"

The next thing that happened was I read that US Cellular was going to get the iPhone "sometime" this fall. Finally.

Obviously, this is fate. The man upstairs is leading me in this direction, right? I have nothing against Android phones. I love my Kindle Fire and have no problem with it not being an iPad. Maybe the reason I look forward to the iPhone is because of my experience of going from an iPod to another mp3 player and saw how unintuitive the other one was in comparison. The same could be said of the myriad of digital media players I have used over the years and still have found the Apple TV just works. It is babysitter easy. As far as computers go we are still all PC, Mac's just cost too much. ;)

Back to the iPhone...

Is this the iPhone 5C?

Everyday I am checking the Google News for US Cellular and for iPhone. The best I have gathered from the rumors is sometime around Sept 6 the new phones will be released.Yes, more than one version is what I said.

The current talk is that there will be an iPhone lite (the 5S or 5C?) that will basically be the 5 in a plastic
case, and a 6 that will have faster hardware speed, memory, and camera. Both are said to have a fingerprint scanner on the home button.

Which will I get? I don't know. Whatever our carrier offers will narrow it down, I'm sure. I can't wait to use it for our work on the farm, if only to check the weather maps when we are doing field work, and to be able to share more about our life on the farm more often.
